Support our Climate Education Project to raise awareness amongst adolescents in Costa Rica

Hello, we are Floris, Alexander, Victoria and Wick, a team of students from TU Delft and we need your support for our initiative.

We are working on the MOVE Costa Rica project, an initiative aimed at improving the learning experience and spreading climate awareness among adolescents in Costa Rica, through the creation of an educational board game. There is a large poor community in Costa Rica with insufficient access to education on the largest global crisis, climate change. We aim to co-design a game that raises empathy and a sense of belonging while promoting actionable climate change adaptation actions within the local context. 

In collaboration with Universidad Latina and the Fundación Real Madrid our team is commited to make a change leading to a more sustainable future, through education.

We will work with the locals in San José on the project activities such as designing game visuals aligned with Costa Rican motives, refining game mechanics, prototype testing, conducting surveys on climate knowledge and game preferences of the adolescents.

However, to bring this project to life, we need funds to cover costs conducting the on-ground research such as printing the board games, materials and distribution across Costa Rica.

The urgency for funding is twofold. Firstly, our team will be in Costa Rica in November, December, and January. These months are crucial for our project.The funds will ensure that we can carry out these activities effectively.

Secondly, climate change is an urgent global challenge. Every day that passes without adequate education and awareness contributes to its impact. Our project aims to inform youth about climate change and inspire them to take action. The sooner we receive funding, the sooner we can make a difference. Our project does not intend to create a for-profit product but instead seeks to create an educational resource that will be distributed exclusively for educational purposes for widespread impact.

We believe that our project has the potential to make a significant impact in our field and create a sustainable future for Costa Rican youth. But we can’t do it without your help. Every donation brings us one step closer to the goal.

Apoye nuestro Proyecto de Educación Climática para concienciar a los adolescentes en Costa Rica

Hola, somos Floris, Alexander, Victoria y Wick, un equipo de estudiantes de la TU Delft y necesitamos su apoyo para nuestra iniciativa.

Estamos trabajando en el proyecto MOVE Costa Rica, una iniciativa destinada a mejorar la experiencia de aprendizaje y difundir la conciencia climática entre los adolescentes en Costa Rica, a través de la creación de un juego de mesa educativo. Nuestro objetivo es co-diseñar un juego divertido que promueva acciones de adaptación al cambio climático dentro del contexto local.

En colaboración con la Universidad Latina y la Fundación Real Madrid, nuestro equipo está comprometido a hacer un proyecto que ayude a crear un futuro más sostenible, a través de la educación.

Estamos trabajando con estudiantes de la U.Latina y Campus Creativo en las actividades del proyecto, como diseñar visuales de juegos alineados con los motivos costarricenses, refinar la mecánica del juego, probar prototipos, realizar encuestas sobre el conocimiento del clima y las preferencias de juego de los adolescentes.

Sin embargo, para llevar a cabo este proyecto, necesitamos fondos para cubrir los costos de la investigación en el terreno, como la impresión de los juegos de mesa, los materiales y la distribución en toda Costa Rica.

Nuestro proyecto no pretende crear un producto con fines de lucro, sino que busca crear un recurso educativo que se distribuirá exclusivamente con fines educativos para un impacto generalizado.

Creemos que nuestro proyecto tiene el potencial de tener un impacto significativo en nuestro campo y crear un futuro sostenible para la juventud costarricense. Pero no podemos hacerlo sin tu ayuda. Cada donación nos acerca un paso más a la meta.
